Original red cloth, lettered in gilt. Ex-library with trace of plates on front endpapers, stamps on title page (recto/verso) and first/last pages of text. Loss of cloth to head and foot of spine, but contents (library stamps apart) in good order. A working/reading copy only of a scarce title. Publisher's catalogue for March 1896 bound in at end. Remaindered copies were later issued in blue cloth. Davidson was a contributor to The Yellow Book, author of the extravaganza Perfervid (1890), and drowned himself at the age of 52, fearing that he had cancer.
