Undated first edition [1885]. Late C20th rebinding in maroon cloth over red marbled boards; no title or lettering of any sort on binding. Clean, tight, very good. Conway shot to fame with the thriller Called Back in 1883. After his sudden and unexpected death from typhoid in May 1885 at the age of only 37, several posthumous works appeared including this scarce collection of shorter pieces: At What Cost, The Story of a Sculptor and Capital Wine.
