Second Edition. Late C19th rebinding in black leather over marbled boards, lettered in gilt on spine. Light scuffing, rhyming bookplate ("If you don't want to have/Your old conscience a bore/Send me back to my owner/Innis Chonain, Loch Awe") on front pastedown, very good. A parody of Frederick Burnaby's travelogue A Ride to Khiva (1876) which tells of the author's epic journey to the "forbidden" city of Khiva (in modern day Uzbekistan): in Burnand's version the narrator stumbles aimlessly around Russia accompanied by a stolen pig.
