Undated . Original crimson cloth, lettered in gilt. Text printed in double columns. Spine lightly sunned and chipped ta head, uneven sunning on rear board, light foxing, good. Two short novels, adapted and expanded from Russian originals. First published in English by Dent/Dutton in 1895 (as Tales from the Caucasus), then (erroneously) as newly discovered unpublished stories in 1899 (as The Snow on Shah-Dagh and Ammalet Bey); then in this new translation by Alfred Allinson in 1903. The illustrated edition of Allinson's translation appeared in 1904. All versions are uncommon.
