Three volumes in original grey-green cloth, with decorative scarf design on front boards in red, black and brown, lettered in gilt on spines; grey-and-white patterned endpapers. Small cloth inserts at heads of spines on Volumes I & II, full spine strengthened on Volume III. Corners scuffed, faint traces of removed labels on front boards, bookplate of Arthur Digby Besant on each front pastedown: a good, tight set. Historical novel. Arthur Digby Besant was the author's nephew, son of Walter's brother Frank and the noted theosophist, Annie Besant. A heavy three-volume set which will require additional posatge.
