Original blue cloth with illustration of woman's head in beige and black on front board, lettered in gilt. Light scuffing, front free endpaper removed, foxing spots, thus good. Scott is best remembered as an influential conservative theatre critics of the latter half of the nineteenth century; but he also wrote essays, drama, poetry. He also wrote some prose fiction, most notably one chapter of the multi-authored thriller The Fate of Fenella, plus this very scarce collection of ten tales.
