Third Edition in Two Volumes. Two volumes in original fine-ribbed scarlet cloth, lettered in gilt; cream endpapers. Corners rubbed, light scuffing, a trifle darkened on spines, traces of removed bookplates on each front board; light stain along leading edge of front board on volume I. A good set. Collates as the first edition (Sadleir 3314), with publisher's catalogues also dated April 1894. The third of the three novels by Weyman published in the multi-volume format (the other being The New Rector, 2 volumes in 1891; and A Gentleman of France, 3 volumes in 1893).
