[Third Impression]. Late C19th deep turquoise leather over pale blue boards, with gilt lettering, framing and decoration on spine; grey and pink marbled endpapers. Minimal scuffing, otherwise near fine. A ghost story.

Thirteenth Impression, "Pseudonym Library, New Edition". Original blue cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt. Letters and numbers (A8665 CF) at top of front endpapers and title page, suggests ex-library copy: but no shelf marks on binding. Light scuffing, good. A tale of a Russian assassin masquerading in England as a governess.

London T. Fisher Unwin 1905 Hard Cover 
Popular Edition. Original purple cloth, lettered in gilt. Spine and top edge of rear board sunned to grey, small splits to cloth head/foot of spine, a few specks on front board, light foxing, undated signature and Welsh bookseller's stamp on front free endpaper, good. Two titles originally issued in Unwin's Pseudonym Library: Mademoiselle Ixe, the story of a Russian Nihilist in England, launched the series with great success. The Hotel D'Angleterre (a collection of 5 short stories) is far less common.
