Original navy-blue cloth, with blindstamped architectural design on front board, lettered in gilt. Tiny nick at head of spine, otherwise very good/near fine. Historical romance set following the breakdown of the Treaty of Amiens in 1803, when a large number of English civilians were imprisoned in France on the orders of Napoleon. The action moves from the Cinque Port of Rye to France: the hero is a mysterious Frenchman known as "The Rogue".
