London Cassell & Co 1891 First Edition in Three Volumes Hard Cover
First Edition in Three Volumes. Original pale brown cloth, lettered in gilt on spines; brown-and-white patterned endpapers. Trace of removed labels (round or square) on front boards, inner joint papers lightly cracked, but all joints tight. Cloth tight and with only light scuffing on all three volumes. In a purpose-made box in light brown cloth; bowed front with brown leather title label; 5-sided wrap-around which perfectly encloses the volumes which then slide into the box from the back. A good set in a superior protective box. Sadleir [167]. Publisher's catalogue dated 9.91 at end of volume I. heavy boxed set which will require additional postage.
