1 Clay, Bertha M [author unknown, probably US pulp writer, NOT Charlotte M. Brame] The Two Viviens
London Robert Hayes 1920 Hardcover Good Book
Undated reprint, c1920. Original glazed blue cloth, lettered in black, blindstamped design on front board. Ring-mark on rear board, paper faintly brown, good. Charlotte Brame (sometimes erroneously Braeme) was an immensely prolific author of mildly sensational romances. Many were issued in the USA using the pseudonym Bertha M. Clay -- and then other "similar" novels by various authors were also published using the Clay pseudonym. Some of these eventually worked their way back to the United Kingdom, as in the case of The Two Viviens. "The non-Brame title The Two Viviens by 'B.M. Clay' is also found in an undated hardback edition (c1920s) under the imprint of Robert Hayes, Ltd of East London" (Charlotte M Brame. Towards a Primary Bibliography. Law, Drozdz & McNally, 2012).
