Third Edition, Select Library of Fiction. Recently rebound in plain blue cloth, lettered in silver on spine. A little faint browning and light foxing, inscription (1874) in pencil on title page, otherwise very good. Trollope's third -- and commercially unsuccessful -- novel: it had to wait 24 years for this single volume edition. Originally issued as a yellowback in Chapman & Hall's Select Library of Fiction, this copy has been simply but neatly rebound, retaining the original advertisement leaves.

First/Remainder Issue in Two Volumes. 40 illustrations by J. E. Millais. Second title page not present (as always in this edition). Two volumes bound as one in late C19th brown leather over maroon cloth, ruled and lettered in gilt on spine; brown endpapers. A little light scuffing, a little foxing, on plate has wear to edges, otherwise very good. A remainder issue of the first edition, with a new title page. The title page states 39 plates (and this was the number in the first issue), but here there are (correctly) 40.
