"Special Edition for Sale only in India and the British Colonies". Original blue-black cloth. Boards worn and rubbed, spine entirely missing, front free endpaper removed, library bookplate on front pastedown (and smaller plate on rear board), intermittent foxing. Contents in good order, but binding itself is in very poor state. Strictly a reading/working/binding copy only of Algernon Gissing's most praised novel.
